Ankara-Niğde Highway Drone and Promotion Shoots

The main route of Ankara-Niğde Highway is 277 km, including the connection roads, the total length is 332 km. The first 30 km starting from Ankara Province of the main road is designed as 4x2 lanes, while the other kilometers are designed as 3x2 lanes. The project includes 5 Viaducts (Total 3567 Meters), 34 Intersection bridges, 15 Main road bridges, 73 Overpass bridges, 109 Underpass bridges, 681 Box Culverts, 15 Intersections, 15 Toll Collection Facilities, 1 Main Control Center, 2 Maintenance Operation Centers, 6 Service Areas, 4 Parking Areas.

The highway passes through Ankara, Aksaray, Konya, Kırşehir, Nevşehir, and Niğde provinces, all located in the Central Anatolia region. The project consists of the following three sections:

Project Stages

Section 1: Ankara Gölbaşı-Acıkuyu Junction, Section 2: Acıkuyu-Alayhan Junction, Section 3: Alayhan-Gölcük Junction.

The Ankara-Niğde Highway Project is 275 km highway and 55 km connection road, with a total length of 330 km, and the ground delivery of Ankara - Niğde Highway was made on August 24, 2017, and construction works started. The project route passes through the districts of Gölbaşı, Bala, Şereflikoçhisar, and Evren in Ankara province; Kulu district in Konya province; Central district in Kırşehir province; Ortaköy, Sarıyahşi, Gülağaç, Ağaçören, and Central districts in Aksaray province; Acıgöl and Derinkuyu districts in Nevşehir province; and Central district in Niğde province.

Facilities within the Project

Within the project; there are 19 intersection bridges, 10 connection road intersection bridges, 12 highway bridges, 8 connection road bridges, 5 viaducts with a total length of 3566.60 m, 75 overpass bridges, 121 underpass bridges, 670 box culverts, 2 maintenance operation centers, 3 maintenance centers, 1 main control center, 10 Highway service facilities, and 14 toll collection stations. Ankara-Niğde Highway, especially serving heavy vehicle-oriented heavy traffic, aims to ensure traffic safety, life and property security, shorten travel times, and contribute to the development of tourism and industry in the region. With the completion of the project, the negative impact of the increasing traffic volume on the capacity of existing roads will be eliminated, ensuring sustainable traffic safety and maintenance services.

Work continues on small art structures, large art structures, earthworks, and superstructure works.

PROJECT BENEFITS

Ankara-Niğde Highway Project has completed the missing connection of Turkey's TEM Project and provided uninterrupted highway connection from Edirne on the Bulgarian border to Şanlıurfa near the Syrian border. When the Şanlıurfa-Habur border gate section of this connection is constructed and put into operation, it will be extended to the Iraqi border. Accordingly, the project has contributed to the improvement of the regional transportation network and strengthened Turkey's strategic position between the three continents of Europe, Asia, and Africa.

Ankara-Niğde Highway Shoots provides a highway connection between the Marmara, Black Sea, and Mediterranean regions, making the highway internationally important. As travel to Asia and Africa regions has become more efficient, international trade has also benefited from it.

With the implementation of the project, the travel distance between Ankara and Niğde has decreased by approximately 60 km. In addition, the project has eased traffic flow and strengthened social, economic, and commercial relations between the northwest and southeast of Turkey. The removal of physical barriers contributes to the country's economic growth, commercial and logistical capacity, while providing controlled safe and comfortable access between the northern and southeastern provinces.

In addition, the Ankara-Niğde Highway Project has increased access to important tourist destinations in the region such as Tuz Gölü (between Ankara, Konya, and Aksaray provinces) and historical Cappadocia (within the borders of Nevşehir, Kayseri, Kırşehir, Aksaray, and Niğde provinces).
